About Time I did this
This is actually the first new thing I have written on my blog in months. I write now mostly on triond and saquidoo, have actually managed to get my very first e-book out and generally feel that my writing life is making real progress, hopefully in the right direction. There are so many things to look at and write about that I sometimes stumble trying to decide what should come next, but that is the wonder of the writing life and I just love it.

Stinging Saddleback
Adolescent moths and butterflies, which we see as caterpillars are often found with protective stinging hairs and fibres, bodily features often containing venoms, transmitted to attackers by penetrating actions of the hair/fibre tips
Even lightly brushing up against such animals can result in dermatitis, itching and great pain, attacks and stings causing discomfort according to the species of caterpillar involved, the saddleback especially nasty, one unfortunate victim describing pain much more savage than a wasp sting for almost 3 hours.
Small caterpillars like these are difficult to spot on forest floors or amongst leaves, so great care is needed when out in the woods. Though pain and itching caused requires prompt treatment, injuries are rarely serious, though anyone with allergy problems, should be extra vigilante.
Pressing sticky tape onto the affected area, before ripping it off again to remove offending hairs or fibres is the best bet, repeating this process several times. Ice-packs over the area help to further reduce burning and itching, as does the application of a water and baking soda paste.
Saddleback Caterpillars are reddish-brown in colour, only one inch long, fleshy, spiny horns at each body end with shorter spiny horns on the sides, and that distinct green saddle-shaped mid-section coloring, with the centralized brown or purple circle are common across the USA,
They mostly appear in late summer, eating various types of tree, including dogwood, oak, plum, apple, cherry and chestnut, the end spines having those urticating hairs, which secrete that irritating venom. Contact is always very painful, leading to a rash commonly lasting for days as well as nausea and swelling, sensitive skinned individuals likely to have severe reactions.. Lovely as these creatures look, people friendly they certainly are not.

Good day for gardening
I am feeling pretty frustrated today, because I went on google sites, looking to try creating a website for myself because they are free, but my almost total computer idiocy means that this supposedly user-friendly website builder from google is really doing my head in. I think I made a decent start on it, but others may need to take a look and let me know what they think/ The idea is that google search engines might find my writings more easily on my own site, but being so uneducated about computer and website use, I may well be wrong. The URL for this fledging failure is https://sites.google.com/site/tonyleatherwritings/
Please do look and tell me how bad it is, as well as offering some advice, perhaps, on how to make it better. Been so busy fiddling around with this hopeless venture that I have not managed to post any new work today. Still, I have time on my hands, so maybe I should leave it alone for now and get back to actually writing something. Let you all know how things develop.

Frustration rife today.
There are some days when you want to pull your hair out, if you have any that is, because the writing muse has disappeared without trace, and no matter what you do, it will not respond to your silent entreaties for inspiration. I suppose that, logically speaking, you need to take a break from the writing life for a day or two, but when you are used to creating something new on a daily basis, it seems quite hard to swallow. I have twitter and facebook pages, but have just signed up to a twitter rival. Check it out, you might like it - http://www.adzly.com/r/69855 - I am hoping that I get past this temporary writers block and get back to what I love best.

New things to look at, and new links to follow
OK everyone.
I am now in pursuit of ever more views and followers, and I would like to recommend a few sites you might find of interest for getting your own posts out to a wider audience. All are well worth visiting

www.socialmonkee.com/index.php?af=3945.
this is a way to get loads more views, but you need to be reasonably computer literate to understand how it works. Based on RSS feeds and very effective.
The following are my referral links for several other sites where you can post your writing all at the same time.

Things very different now
It has been a long time since I posted on my blog here, something I need to correct. I now have well over 600 posts on triond, no longer write for environmentalgraffiti, urbantitan or green-buzz, but I do now post on wikinut, bukisa, shetoldme, facebook, digg and twitter, so things are looking very different these days. I will be trying to put more effort into the blog from now on, but if you fancy seeing my work elsewhere, try http://www.wikinut.com/arss~ughfl/tony-leather/rss.xml
Will be writing more soon.

Triond going very well
Hello again.
Well I now have 334 posts on triond, and am making around 40 cents a day, which is not much, admittedly, but far more than many other trionders manage. There is no word at all about what is going on with environmentalgraffiti. After they halved the per views payments, everything about the site seemed to slow right down, in terms of submissions to it, so I have no idea what is going on there, Still averaging 400 views a day on there, so I can hardly complain, but still. Anyway, just wanted to keep you updated. Will be posting again in a day or two.

progress
I have submitted several good posts the last few days on triond, but I am still struggling weith getting enough hits, which I will need if I want to earn any money. Environmentalgraffiti looks to be on a downward slope, which really is unfortunate, but then we are in tough times for everyone. I do feel that I am making real progress on triond now, and want to really push hard toget myself properly noticed, so I need to try even harder.

Anybody know what's happening?
I was mortified today when I got a payment from environmentalgraffiti that was only half of what I expected it to be. Turns out that they have slashed the pay per views by 50% overnight, so they must be having a lean time of it. Be a shame if the site folds, because it has been very good for me, though nowhere near as good as others. Am making real progress on triond now, but still need to get the viewing figures pushed upwards to at least 30k a month, if I want to earn any money!! Anyhow, for now the earning seems less important than the getting established, and I seem to be doing OK on that front. Will have more soon.

February staring on a good note.
It seems like my joining grabbedarticles.com has had a positive effect on my view stats at environmentalgraffiti.com - they appear to be going up, not rapidly but steadily so far, so perhaps there really is a good point to being part of it. I also signed up to the bansy revolution, which the founders also feel will have a good weffect on viewing stats for those who take part. Things are going really well with both greenbuzz and triond, lots of positive comments and views, so I appear to be doing something right, at least. I will keep trying to improve, keep posting content, and keep hoping that viewers find it interesting enough to want to view other thgings that I have done. There will be something in there for most every taste, I promise!

What a great January that was.
I had a super month, getting well into writing for triond and beginning to develop some friendships with other writers that I found really useful. I sent a few links in, as well, to grabbedarticles.com, which is good because it seems to be helping push up my views on environmentalgraffiti.com, and could prove really good in due course. I am starting to get well into this blogging thing, and would really be chuffed to get some feedback from others. Cheers.

New site with good possibilities
Hey troops.
Just signed up to a new site where the members need to be triond contributors, ideally, in which the mmembers can post links to articles of thier own, from other sites, without infringing copyright, and hopefully thereby increase the amount of traffic that thier work gets. The site is run by MPA, triond writer, at http://www.grabbedarticles.com/ and I think shows a lot of promise, so if you do write for triond, get in touch with him and asak about it. Things going well for me, generally, at the moment. Never seem to have any spare time, but at least I never get bored.

Certain amount of confusion.
Still not certain how to go about this affiliates business, but there seems to ba an increasing interest in mt triond postings. I had an intriguing message from another triond member about possibly getting into yet another writing endeevour, but I had to set up seperate g-mail account and blog for it, so I need to think hard about it. Generally things seem to be moving along quite nicely.

What happened to my views?
Triond was down for quite a while today as far as viewing stats was concerned, so I cannever know what the rtue figures for today were, but I suspect that fewer people visited thn in the last few days. What I need to do to attract more readers is still a puzzle to me, but I intend to keep working at it. Would really appreciate more comments as well.
Going great guns
I really do wonder some days why I put so much effort in to this writing lark, because it often seems that nowhere near enough people pay attention. I want to hear comments from readers about everything I write, be it praise or put-down, because the only way it can improve if I get to hear what is wrong with it. I have made some big adjustments to my blog page, and hope to be getting much more traffic in future. I have 200 posts on triond now, and fel that I am finally getting somewhere.

Progress being made on triond
Well I now have well over 200 articles published on triond, and it seems odd that the syuff which attracts most comment is thje poetry, though I never thought it my strong suit. Also picling up plenty of fans and friends, so i have to say that I really like the site, even if the earnings are not going to be there in the beginning. You need to be attracting 40K+ hits a month to be in the money, and getting to that level is sure to take time. till, I am enjoying a lot, and surely that is the main thing?

Celebrations
I have now cracked the 1,000 views mark on triond, and am close to 200 posts, so I feel quite pleased with myself. What I do not understand is why this google adsense thing is still showing zero earnings. Does anyone make any money with these things? Am starting to see that mre activity on blogs is a good thing, so iuntend to do much more of it. Nothing more for today. Cheers.

Increased submissions means increasing traffic?
I just signed up to sidetick social networking site, in hopes of promoting myself online even more. It strikes me that if I do not do this, no one else will, sdo I feel I have to push as hard as I can. That does not mean that I fail to keep right on researching and submitting new content to the sites that feature my work, because the more there is to be seen, the more people, hopefully, will want to view it. Still wanting comment from readers? Thanks.

looking at the options
Hello everyone.
Been doing some more trawling today. Not sure wether I am making a success of my online writing efforts or not. I know thatt having loads of stuff out there for people to read is an achievement in itself, but feedback from readers is so important, and I do not get anywhere near as much as I would like. All the comments appearing on greenbuzz just now are about things I have written, so I feel quite chuffed about that. This web writinfg is getting to be almost like an occupation. Wish the money I make reflected that! Still, big trees from little acorns.....etc.

How do you guys get more traffic?
I get an average 3to400 views a day on EG articles, and even managed over 80K viewsfor one, but my stuff has been on there for 9 months now. Only started on triond in mid December, and though I already have nearly 200 posts on there, I only mage between 30 to 80 views a day. Blogging is supposedly a good way to spark more interest, but what I want to know is how? It seems the attention span of the average web surfer is a maximum five minutes, so if you don't catch right away, you're probably buggered. The things that prick interestr most are apparently either bizarre, wierd, or taking the mickey, but how you achieve the right mind set for such posts is still a mystery to me. Still, I am enjoying what I'm doing, and that, surely, is the most important thing?
Plenty more to look at now
Hey guys.
I have now posted nearly 200 items onto my triond pages, and there is plenty to look at. I put a piece of descriptive prose on there, called 'the assignation', and I would really like some feedback on it. Not really got into blogging yet, but I will do my best to keep it interesting. Let me know if theres anything you want to say.
